This Two-Toed Sloth Is an Excellent Swimmer
Sloths, the slowest of all mammals, spend almost their entire lives upside down. Because of that, their fur grows in the opposite direction of all other mammals, allowing water to run off them when it rains. Surprisingly, they are also excellent swimmers. But despite these adaptations, sloths face numerous threats. Their forest homes are becoming fragmented and they are a popular target for traffickers in the illegal pet trade.
