With over 160 million items, the Library of Congress is the largest library in the world. But this impressive collection features more than books. Catalogued within the library’s dozens of special collections are rare manuscripts, maps, photographs, sheet music and even artwork. Highlights include: the oldest known portrait in America, the first portrait of Abraham Lincoln, Lewis and Clark’s original maps, the original “Star Spangled Banner,” the Gutenberg Bible, 140,000 issues of comic books and so much more.
