Regis Ducoux likes to work at his own rhythm. A traveling distiller, he moves from village to village, spending two to three weeks crafting eau de vie—a fruit-based brandy—at each stop. Traveling distillers were numerous in France fifty years ago, but today, Regis is one of only two serving the country’s Haute-Vienne region.
