Soap Opera: The Wild Life and Times of Dr. Bronner

Emmanuel Heilbronner, a.k.a. “Dr. Bronner” invented the magic soaps we’ve come to know and love. Originally from Germany, the idiosyncratic soap maker lost his parents in the Holocaust and immigrated to the U.S. in 1929. He started his business making products by hand with his individual philosophy, “All-One-God_Faith” and the “Moral ABC.” Bronner’s other claims to fame include being arrested for speaking without a permit, escaping shock treatments and growing his business into the successful family company it is today.
