Giant Sculptures Decorate North Dakota’s Enchanted Highway
Along a 30-mile stretch of road in North Dakota, massive scrap metal sculptures seem to sprout from the earth and touch the sky. But where did they come from? In an effort to bring more visitors to his dwindling town of Regent, Gary Greff began welding the figures in 1989. Each sculpture takes five to six years to complete, making this project a true labor of love.
