Breaking Paddleboard Records to Fight Pollution
Lizzie Carr took up paddleboarding to get back in shape after undergoing treatment for cancer, and it wasn’t long before she became dismayed by all the plastic pollution she saw floating in England’s waterways. Soon enough, Lizzie was on plastic patrol, setting distance records in her sport—she’s the first person to paddle the length of England and the first woman to cross the English Channel on a paddleboard—all while picking up trash along the way and testing the water for micro-pollutants. Now she’s getting others involved, too.
